Mangrove: The Richness of a Tropical Fauna and Flora


If you're wondering what to do in San Antero, one of the most special experiences is exploring the 8,000 hectares of mangroves and crystal-clear water located in the south of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, where the force of the Caribbean connects with the stillness of the waters.


In this experience, you will discover the richness of the tropical mangrove, an ecosystem where thousands of species feed and find refuge. It will be a space for contemplation, conservation, birdwatching, and the sustainable use of the environment.


You'll also have the opportunity to visit the CVS (the organization responsible for endangered animals in the area) and see the turtles and the American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus), species protected by conservation programs aimed at preventing their future extinction. You'll experience all of this from our ecolodge in Colombia, a place designed to connect you with nature and promote conservation.

    In this experience, you'll connect with the point of convergence between the magical Sinú River and our Caribbean Sea at Boca de Tinaiones. You'll witness the transformation of the water and be energized while observing unique tropical landscapes. You'll also visit a hidden gastronomic paradise:


    Delicias Caribeñas, a small cabin in the middle of the river, was founded by one of the best chefs to have ever worked at the presidential residence in Cartagena, Doña Sara. There you will delight in her local cuisine while discovering her background and her concept of sustainable Colombian Caribbean gastronomy, and experiencing the surrounding wildlife.


    You will end up contemplating the wonder of the mangrove and its nature, while learning about its endangered species and the fauna that inhabits it.
